Land Acknowledgment

We, the congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, respectfully acknowledge that we gather on the ancestral homelands of the Ho-Chunk, Kickapoo, Myaamia, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Peoria, and Potawatomi peoples. We honor their enduring relationship with this land—past, present, and future.

We recognize the long history of injustice, and the pain caused by displacement, exclusion, and erasure of indigenous communities. Understanding these injustices is essential to healing and to preventing future harm.

Guided by our faith in a God of justice, mercy, and peace, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church commits to remembering the past, listening deeply, and lifting up the voices of our Indigenous siblings. May we walk gently on this land, honoring its original caretakers with love, respect, justice and the healing power of truth.
