Core Values

Healthy Relationships | Discipleship | Worship | Mission | Welcoming Evangelism | Stewardship

Healthy Relationships:

We believe healthy relationships build strong families, churches, and communities.

Healthy relationships include vulnerability and accountability, integrity and respect, honest communication and sincere listening, and loving confrontation and graceful compromise.

We believe that healthy relationships are a catalyst for life-change, ministry, and discipleship.

Discipleship:

We believe discipleship is a commitment to the life-long process of spiritual growth.

Discipleship includes centering one's life in prayer and worship, celebrating with other Christians, growing towards spiritual maturity, sharing gifts and resources, participating in mission and ministry, and communicating God's love to others.

We believe that discipleship guides decisions which impact every life every day.

Worship:

We believe worship honors God and provides focus for daily life.

Worship honors God when it reflects God's love and grace. Worship should be culturally relevant and true to our reforming Lutheran heritage. We are open to a variety of worship styles and formats that, through word and sacrament, sight and sound, give meaning, focus and encouragement to daily life.

We believe worship is a personal and collective way to joyfully praise God and is essential for all followers of Jesus.

Mission:

We believe in the power of hands-on mission to change lives.

Mission is the individual and collective experience of connecting local, national, and global needs with our hands and hearts, dollars and prayers, action and advocacy.

We believe that participation in mission breaks down stereotypes, provides perspective and builds reciprocal relationships.

Welcoming Evangelism:

We believe personal invitation and unconditional acceptance lead to the joy of belonging.

Welcoming evangelism creates an inviting climate of warmth and hospitality. It offers access, both physical and spiritual, to our family of faith.

We believe in welcoming evangelism because people go to where they are invited and return to where they feel welcome.

Stewardship:

We believe that every person has God-given gifts to contribute to the church and the world.

Stewardship is using our gifts, skills, experiences, and financial resources in mission and ministry. Being good stewards includes committing time and talent and growing toward a tithe.

We believe that Stewardship is a spiritual discipline that fulfills practical needs and enhances spiritual maturity, which creates a cycle of blessing.
