Worship Assistants and Prayer Groups
Acolytes
Acolytes are generally junior high adge youth who participate in
worship by lighting and extinguishing the altar candles and by
taking the offering plates to and from the ushers.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild prepares the sanctuary for weekend worship and
special services (e.g. weddings, Thanksgiving,
Christmas Eve). This is a quiet but important ministry.
Communion Servers
Communion servers assist the pastors with serving communion.
Adults and youth who commune are welcome to serve in this
capacity.
Labyrinth Ministry Team
The Labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool used for prayer and
meditation. The team provides awareness and opportunities for
people to experience a labyrinth.
Lectors
A lector reads a Bible passage during worship.
Prayer Team
The prayer team receives weekly emails listing the prayer
requests from weekend worship. The prayer team promises to lift
these requests in prayer throughout the week.
Ushers
Ushers welcome people to worship, collect the offering, and
provide basic hospitality and assistance as called upon. Ushers
are needed at both worship services.
Worship Assistant
Worship assistants chant (sing) and speak parts of the liturgy
during worship.
